Claims Manager - South AfricaFull job descriptionJob IntroductionOur Claims Managers are key to ensuring that any claims brought against our members are managed efficiently, with the best interests of our members and the member fund at heart. You will support the provision of excellent claims handling services for members which is trusted and valued and provides fair treatment outcomes, by managing a case load of claims files and using expert knowledge and judgement to formulate strategies in order to advise and guide members on relevant processes, ensuring an excellent member service is provided.Main ResponsibilitiesDirectly managing a caseload of claims through to resolution or the service of proceedings.Assessing the facts, law, apportionment issues, quantum and likely costs in order to devise and implement a case management and investigative strategy proportionate to the claim.Ensuring accurate claims estimates are set and kept up to date.Giving direction and input to to Claims Assistants when required.Resolution of any apportionment issuesObtaining additional documentary and factual evidence as required from the member(s) and other witnessesPlease see the role profile for further role responsibilities.The Ideal CandidateYou will have experience handling medical negligence claims in either the Insurance or Legal world.
