Clinical Director Research Doctor
Job Description
Fixed term contract: 12 Months (Contract subject to possible renewal depending on funding and/or project duration)
Experience and qualifications:Medical degree/ Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and SurgeryRegistration with HPCSAStrong management experience with clinical functions within a research portfolio or environmentClinical Research background with Principal Investigator experience is essentialAn excellent understanding of lab, pharmacy and nursing processes and flows is advantageous
Key responsibilities include:Serve as a key liaison between the Executive Committee and the Clinical functions of the organisation.Serve as a key liaison between the organisation and external sponsors of research projectsEnsure that the clinical functions are streamlined and effectively managed to support the strategic objectives of the organisationOversee the study investigators and provide relevant training, mentorship, and guidance to the investigator team in order to develop the
overall site research capacityWill be required to plan strategically, effectively, and flexibly around study-specific requirements and the site's operational
requirementsMaintain a balanced and productive equilibrium in the clinic, across all clinical functions (this would include liaison with nurses, lab,
and pharmacy teams)Ability to respond to crisis and urgent situations with flexibility, maturity, and resourcefulnessContribute towards the research and scientific output of the organisation
