Doctors Gateway is recruiting Microbiologists to relocate to the United Kingdom and join our two-year Specialist programme.

About you
To be eligible, you must be currently working as a Microbiologist and:
Hold a medical degree in microbiology or equivalent
Have a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath)
Have completed the Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST) course
Have General Medical Council (GMC) registration and a valid licence to practise
Demonstrate specialised training or significant experience in microbiology
Possess a valid English language proficiency certificate

About the position
The microbiology medical workforce provides essential advice to healthcare professionals on diagnosing and managing infections, as well as on infection prevention and control.
Your primary responsibilities may include:
Laboratory oversight: Share responsibility for specimen processing at Health Services Laboratories (HSL), including reporting and clinical advice
Clinical advice: Provide diagnostic guidance, interpret results, and support antibiotic stewardship, primarily via telephone consultations with GPs
Result validation: Validate and interpret laboratory test results accurately
Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with clinicians and hospital staff to promote safe infection management, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention
