About the role

Metallurgy Laboratory: Coach

,

this role involves developing high quality, metallurgy laboratory specific training solutions and materials for our internal workforce. You will play a crucial role in enhancing employees' skills, knowledge, and performance within our organization at different laboratories. Collaboration with various stakeholders, you'll design, implement and facilitate effective learning programs with a focus on continuous improvement to keep our workforce competitive and adaptable. Additionally, you will take ownership of the new learning management system (LMS) implemented by the group. The successful candidate will continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and monitor return on investment.


Reporting to the

Coach: Engineering & Lab - Snr

, you will:

Experience in performing sample analysis in the metallurgy lab environment (using XRF, OES, XRD, ICP, extractive metallurgy techniques, etc). Strong understanding of adult learning principles and learning material development. Experience in training, facilitation, mentoring and coaching employees. (Lab Techniques SME) Develop and implement innovative and measurable learning materials including digital learning, on the job training, blended learning, virtual reality, performance support, simulations, and gamification. Work with line leaders and subject matter experts to conduct thorough training needs analysis, gap closure and reports/records. Stay updated on current industry trends in learning technology, science and analytics. Lead employees training and assist with learning solutions using various tools and technologies, including multimedia platforms, assessment tools, LMS. (Manage and ensure integrity) Carry out safety coaching to ensure that HSE standards and practices are maintained and improved.

What you'll bring





To succeed in this role, you will have:



Grade 12 (with Maths & Science) or equivalent. Diploma in analytical chemistry (B-tech/Degree or higher will be advantageous) Occupational certificate: Training and development NQF 4(Assessor, coach the learner, Facilitator etc.) ODETDP National Diploma (advantageous) and ISO 17025 Certification (ISO9001 - will be advantageous) Valid South African Driver's License 5 years' experience in heavy industry/mining AND 2 years' experience in accredited learning environment (Laboratory must) 2-year experience working with SETA's and QCTO Well-developed interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
