Our Client in the Montague Gardens area is seeking the skills of Code 10 Dangerous Goods Drivers. Potential candidates, need to meet the following requirements -
: Know about the hazards implied with the transport of determined dangerous goods. Know about the emergency actions and handling procedures in case of accidents with the goods during their loading or transportation. : Know the mechanical components used in vehicles and identify and resolve potential malfunctions. : The capacity and the limits of the commissioned vehicle in terms of weight, type of cargo it can handle, and other cargo loading specifications. : The body of rules, procedures and regulations related to health and safety measures intended to prevent accidents or incidents in transportation. : Know the local transport topography, including roads, traffic hotspots, and alternative routes to reach a destination. Use knowledge to transport the vehicle to its destination in the most time and fuel-efficient manner, and minimising safety risks. *Skills and Experience.

• Experience, Code 10 (DGP) driver.
• Matric, only.
• 3 years driving experience.
• Valid Firefighting certificate.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Well groomed.
• Valid and current code 10 licence with valid PDP with the (DGP) on it. Without the D on the licence, candidates will not be a current and valid dangerous goods driver.
• Candidates will need to know the areas in Cape Town, more particular, various location within the Northern Suburbs and Southern Suburbs.
• Candidates must have experience driving at the very least a 5-ton truck.
• No drug/alcohol habits and be medically fit. Candidates will not only be driving but also picking stock and packing stock, loading, and offloading manually. Stock is heavy.
