Zeal HR and JobJack have partnered to find the best Code 14 (EC) Truck Driver for our wholesale client in Durbanville Industrial, Cape Town.

• Fixed-term contract - full-time
• 8 hrs p/day

As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient transportation of goods to and from various destinations. Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting the truck before each day's operation, ensuring cleanliness, adhering to schedules, and maintaining compliance with road traffic laws. You will be the face of our company when interacting with clients/customers, and professionalism in conduct, hygiene, and dress code is essential.What you'll do
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

• Inspect truck before start of day according to check sheet
• Cleaning of trucks, inside and outside, on Mondays (Spring clean) On the inside of trucks, clean as you go on a daily basis. Random checks will be done, and applicable personnel will be held accountable
• Transport orders or packages to and from destinations
• Driver to check and make sure that trucks are loaded with the right product and the right quantity. (Must check quantities on trip sheet and orders)
• Arrive at destinations on schedule and according to trip sheet
• Fulfil administrative needs, like office pickups and assisting loading of trucks. (When applicable)
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays (weighbridges)
• Use navigation applications to determine the best route according to calculated trip sheet
• Interact with clients/customers professionally at all times. Hygiene and dress code
• Ensure that the vehicle is always fuelled and ready for use (Check daily)
• Report all problems/faults to management immediately and include on checklist on a daily basis
• Operate his/her vehicle with care and in compliance with South African Road Traffic Laws.
• Only use the company vehicle for company related purposes
• Do not transport any item, person or article which is not for company related purposes. Unless requested by management with reasonable instructions.
• Must adhere to Zero Tolerance Policy
• Must adhere to Workplace Harassment Policy

Requirements

• Drivers licence: Code 14 / EC
• PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
• English
• Within 15km from job
• Clear criminal record
