Job Description


One of the largest integrated fruit and logistics businesses in South Africa is seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Accountant.The ideal candidate will have a Finance or Logistics qualification and at least 5 years work experience. Knowledge of ERP systems (Navision, Business Central, or similar) will be a positive along with Paltrack or ProduceLinc. Industry experience in agriculture, farming, citrus, fruit, export, logistics, or related will also be an advantage, and candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.This is an excellent opportunity for personal growth and growth within this expanding business. They also cater for a balanced environment with flexi workday options.Purpose of the roleResponsible for the commercial aspect of an organisations accounts, performing an accounting function that supports accurate reporting on grower returns and analysing supply chain data to ensure accurate supply chains. The commercial accountant delivers a superior client experience by engaging with them and meeting their needs.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sending client detail sheets to potential customers;
  • Validating information as per client sheet received;
  • Sending customer template to IT for customer setup;
  • Processing of advance Bills;
  • Processing of account sales Cost Bills;
  • Checking that all costs on cost bills is relevant;
  • Compiling weekly account sales and sending to relevant parties;
  • General Producer account and Producer Portal queries;
  • Creditors / Product Vendors statement and system reconciliation;
  • Debtors allocation for receipts;
  • Clearing of incoming funds (available fund sheet);
  • Payment allocation on customers daily;
  • Following up on unpaid invoices;
  • Request customer claims deducted from payments;
  • Processing of debtors invoices and sales credit memos Non-Producelinc;
  • Data sharing for royalty submissions;
  • Compiling weekly debtors reports (deb view) and progress of collection;
  • Compiling weekly outstanding invoices and outstanding account sale for customers;
  • Credit insurance applications for all potential customers;
  • Credit insurance declarations;
  • Follow up on internal limit application for customers with no credit insurance cover;
  • Maintain communication with management so that they are made aware of vendor issues;
  • Ensure confidentiality of company financial information;
  • Generate seasonal grower report and
  • Any ad hoc duties assigned by Senior Management.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Grade 12 (Essential)
  • Tertiary Qualification Finance/Logistics (Advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 Years experience in the Fruit Industry in a similar role
  • MS Excel skills essential.
  • Agriculture, Citrus, Fruit, FMCG, Logistics experience beneficial.
Remuneration:
  • R420,000 to R540,000 per annum, negotiable on experience and qualifications.
