Contracting with 3rd party coal mines for coal, Transporters and contracting with other suppliers to meet the needs of the logistics business
Ensure objectives and deliverables are clear in the contract upon which adherence will be monitored.
Monitor Contract Compliance as per contractual obligations
Manage the legal officer to ensure fulfilment of this KPA to ensure that trade terms and agreements are concluded efficiently
Analysis and reporting
Conduct commercial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
Provide insights and recommendations to management based on commercial and financial data
Produce the relevant reports required for the role within the stipulated time frame
Credit management and management of supplier invoices payment activities
Through the commercial accountant, monitor credit limit with the mines, where there is no credit limit, follow through to ensure that the credit limit is arranged and/or topped up otherwise this may affect ability to secure stock required
Check that supplier invoices are received, verified (including Port invoices), captured, audited, approved and payment processed timeously
Where prepayments are required, ensure that this is done so that Coal Transportation activities are not negatively impacted by payment issues
Provisions and payment requests for coal contracts and every vessel
Enhance processes where required to drive efficiencies and effectiveness
Team management
Provide guidance and mentorship to the team that includes a commercial accountant, procurement officer and legal officer; and ensure timely work execution
Conduct training sessions on processes and procedures where required
Identify areas of improvement for optimisation and recommend action
Develop and drive a high-performance culture
Minimum requirements:
Diploma/ Degree in Accounting / Cost Accounting / Business / Economics
5 years experience in Commercial / Procurement role
