My client in the FMCG industry is seeking a Commercial Manager: Supply Chain to join their company in Pinetown.Duties include:
Supply Chain Planning & Strategy
Management of working capital investment in stock to company parameters, including slow moving and dead stock.
Finished goods planning for divisions with the relevant people ensuring no stock outs and short supplies.
Efficient raw material inventory management ensuring the right amount is available at the right time to reduce working capital impact.
Drive Just-in-time principles and continuous improvements to eliminate waste and streamline processes.
Procurement and Vendor Management
Supplier Assessments - Ensuring quality, cost and delivery requirements are met.
Supplier Contract management - Negotiation of contracts, Service Level Agreements, MOUs, Leases
Drive organisational cost and savings projects across the supply chain.
Risk Management & Mitigation
Identify, manage, and mitigate risks in the purchasing and production planning departments.
Diversify suppliers where practical to reduce dependency on a single source.
Contingency planning to ensure alternative strategies in case of unexpected event.
Monitoring the adherence to ISO 9001/FSSC22000 supply chain procedures across the group and amongst suppliers where relevant
Data Analysis
Identify patterns and trends to optimize processes to improve overall efficiency.
Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, such as inventory turnover, supplier on-time delivery and lead times, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Analyze market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies in supply chain management, staying updated on best practices and innovations to drive continuous improvement.
Leadership & Training
Lead cross-functional teams and projects, driving process improvements, system implementations, and change management initiatives to enhance capabilities and performance.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, development, and collaboration.
Ability to create and develop training material to train the relevant parts of the business.
Minimum Requirements:
Bcom Accounts or Bcom Supply Chain or CIMA completed qualification
3 or more years in a Planning and Procurement Manager role in an FMCG or high speed continuous Manufacturing (medium to large business,).
Must have managed Production/Demand Planners and Buyer/s in their team. * Proficient with SAP is advantageous.
