Communications & CI Manager (South Africa+ Market) - Short Term Contract
Position Purpose:
The Communications & CI Manager has oversight for the implementation of the overall communication strategy with a particular focus on internal communications (Developing a sense of community); Leading and establishing the communications strategy for all key South Africa+ (SA+) markets, external communications; Developing and leading the external communications strategy through developing key campaigns, engaging media & profiling the business and its leadership. Reviewing strategies to ensure it is always aligned with current trends.
What will you do - responsibilities:
Content Development
Plan, prepare and implement yearly strategic media plan. Follow up the execution and update based on market dynamics. Engage with selected journalist to deliver company messages on key issues including taxation, illegal trade prevention and regulatory developments and get support of GM, CA&C Director.
Media & PR - Manage PR agency
Lead the management of our creative, PR & Media buying agencies. Conceptualise, develop, plan & implement media campaigns in conjunction with agency support. Prepare press releases/Q&A and coordinate media queries with CA&C Director. Prepare speeches, letters, etc. drive a focused strategy to report on key topics and feed these into global communications team & region. Manage, track and report on campaign/external communications budget.
Supplier Management
Professional management of JTI South Africa communication suppliers including communication consultants, printers, etc. Develop briefs and work with procurement on establishing key suppliers for the function.
Community Investment
Establish and drive employee volunteerism targets within the CI program. Coordinate and manage our CI ambassador program with regular contact and measurement of CI programs across the SA+ market. Expand & lead CI programs across our key markets across the whole of SA+, working closely with our consultants & government across EA markets. Manage, track & report on the CI budget and activities.
Corporate Identity & Internal Communications
Manage and update all communications aspects in relation to JTI's corporate identity. Update of internal communication tools, aligning and supporting other departments with communication tools. Communicate and embed these across all functions in the business. Ensure all our offices in collaboration with the Facility Manager have updated CI branding and manage the project thereof to execute this project.
Event Management
Provide oversight for strategic JTI South Africa corporate events such as roundtable discussions, stakeholder meetings and internal roadshows or launches. Develop a clear leadership communication plan for all ExCom members. Support functions with clear communications tools for all company events. Lead all CI & media events/projects.
