Devising and executing the Party's communications strategy with the goal of maximising positive voter impact by:
+ proactively identifying issues that the Party should take up or react to, and driving these issues with the team and with Party structures
+ proactively leading Party structures in terms of communication best practice
+ ensuring that the Party builds and maintains strong relations with stakeholders in the media landscape

Minimum requirements:
Communications related tertiary qualification
5 years' experience in the field of communications
5 years' experience in a staff management role
Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
Experience working in a political environment (advantageous)
Experience in local, provincial, or national government (advantageous)
Valid driver's license with access a vehicle for daily use
Skills:
Written and verbal communication, with a with the focus on editing and proof-reading
Time management and organization
Negotiation and conflict resolution
Administration and attention to detail
Abilities:
Identify and assess political risk
Manage internal and external stakeholders
Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
Work independently
Apply sound judgement
Knowledge and commitment:
A deep understanding of the ever-changing media environment
Knowledge of the different communications value of broadcast, print, online and social media
Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
