Community Experience Administrator (tutor Recruitment & Lifecycle)

Job Description


Recruitment Support:

  • Screening tutor applications.
  • Interviewing new tutors and taking notes in interviews.
  • Chasing compliance documents and references in line with Safer Recruitment processes.
  • Setting up DBS (criminal background) checks and carrying out teacher barring checks where necessary
  • Supporting with the coordination of a smooth recruitment and onboarding process with a solution focussed mindset.
  • Working closely with the Recruitment Lead to stay abreast of our performance against the recruitment compliance dashboard and escalating/chasing for outstanding documents as necessary.
  • Managing a caseload of candidates and working to get them successfully recruited in line with agreed SLAs, without compromising on our diligent Safer Recruitment practices.
  • Work closely with other teams within the People and Culture and Programmes functions to ensure a connected approach and smooth handover of newly recruited candidates.
Tutor Community Engagement:
  • Maintenance and follow ups of post-onboarded candidates. Ensuring all relevant training modules have been completed so a tutor is ready to be matched with a student efficiently and in line with SLAs.
  • Working with the team to handle incoming queries from our tutors, signposting and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Following up with dormant tutors to see how we can get them engaged and matched with students.
  • Working with the Recruitment Lead to ensure 100% compliance with our tutor record dashboards at all times.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Matric &/or Diploma/ Certificate in Administration.
  • Excellent prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies and escalate issues as needed, especially regarding safeguarding.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with transparent record-keeping.
  • Empathy and care for the educational outcomes of children in the care system.
  • Attention to detail and a solid understanding of business processes.
  • Professional telephone manner, able to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and knowledge of safeguarding practices.
Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience in recruitment or candidate experiences roles.
  • Understanding of the education landscape and childrens services.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision.
  • Experience within local government, schools, or social work sectors.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or experience in a social enterprise setting.
  • Awareness of challenges related to Children Looked After and trauma.
