Who are we?Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) is focused on serving our retail and corporate clients in South Africa and further developing our strategic advantages in the South African market. Sanlam Life and Savings consists of three clusters - Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the three clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.What will you do?This role exists in our centralised Sanlam Life and Savings Compliance function where we focus on provision of compliance support and compliance assurance to the three clusters in Sanlam Life and Savings, i.e., Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent as well as the Fintech cluster. In this position you will work with the compliance officers in the cluster compliance teams who will mentor, guide and support you during the internship period.What will make you successful in this internship?This role offers you the opportunity to apply your graduate skills in a practical environment with the aim to support your professional development. Most tasks and responsibilities will require your dedicated contribution as part of a team, but individual initiative will be encouraged. Duties will include:

• Assist with research and gathering of information on new and existing regulations impacting the financial services industry.
• Assist with monitoring of compliance with applicable regulations and internal requirements.
• Assist with administration of regulatory training as required.
• Assist with drafting of compliance risk management plans on our Group Compliance Management System
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to assist with compliance meetings, training or workshops
• Assist with incident reporting, to ensure timeous escalation of compliance risks and incidents

What will make you successful in this role?Role Requirements:Must be between the ages of 18-34Should not have been already or previously included in another INSETA Internship funded programme.Qualification:

• Legal or commercial degree.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Computer literate in MS Office which includes Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Outlook
• A basic understanding and knowledge of the regulatory requirements impacting on the insurance industry, although not a prerequisite.
