Compliance Risk Management

• Identify and analyse compliance risks, with a focus on anti-corruption, as well as carrying out measures to monitor and mitigate risks with great focus towards third-party relationships (business partner due diligence) and new business models

Local Expertise

• Understand, and keep abreast of changes to relevant local laws and regulations
• Support the Regional Compliance Office in overseeing the implementation of local policies, guidelines, and procedures as needed

Advisory

• Provide advice to management and associates regarding compliance topics
• Conduct and support investigations and coordinate with legal counsel as necessary
• Provide guidance in M&A projects (due diligence (DD) and post-merger integration (PMI) phases), and support the rollout of the Company Compliance program in joint ventures (JV)

Training/Communication

• Design and conduct trainings on compliance topics, including overseeing the tracking of associate participation
• Design and implement proactive programs and initiatives to ensure associate awareness of compliance organization and topics
• Responsible for compliance communication in general

Monitoring and Control

• Support the Regional Compliance Office in overseeing the review of compliance cases, i.e., proactively conduct/coordinate reviews based on received reports, including recommending appropriate sanctions, disciplinary measures, or other consequences based on compliance violations, and, if necessary, enforcing sanctions
• Systematic monitoring and testing of Compliance program effectiveness

Target responsibility

• Target responsibility for the candidate lies with the regional head of corporate compliance Africa

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Matric
• Bachelors Degree in Law, Auditing or a related studies
• MBA will be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years of experience conducting audits and/or legal, compliance, regulatory, law enforcement investigations
• 5+ years of experience in a legal, audit, or compliance role
• Supervisory experience preferred

SKILLS

• Knowledge of the relevant regulations and laws
• Certified Compliance and Ethics credentials preferred
• Strong leadership ability marked by honesty and integrity
• Demonstrated record of proactiveness and creative thought
• Must be a self-starter and exhibit confidence and comfort with decision making, including disagreement with other stakeholders
