The Site Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Position is for a project specific need which is expected to last 24-28 months, but a well-qualified candidate will be considered for a permanent position with the local team or a global role ahead of project completion.Responsibilities of the RoleEmpowerment:xc2xb7 Drives own empowerment with adequate signature authorization and target agreement to manage the on-site project as entrepreneur according to the organizational standards.xc2xb7 Supports the POO (Project Office Organization) Project Manager with responsibility on project results including budget, financial management of risks, opportunities, claims, scheduling and EHS; acts as owner of his/her project.xc2xb7 Provides direct leadership for the site project team (i.e. performance reviews, coaching, development, and training) of matrix organization.Develop strategies for the project:xc2xb7 Progress reporting to POO Project Manager. Acts as advisor to support POO Project Manager reporting to management.xc2xb7 Develops and considers strategic targets for project site in line with responsible POO Project Manager.xc2xb7 Supports the POO Project Manager to represent the project site in the relevant decision boards internally and externally.xc2xb7 Identifies/creates additional opportunities within his/her ongoing projects.Develop project plan:xc2xb7 Work with the project team to develop a project plan that supports customer requirements and project milestones.xc2xb7 Work with the project team to develop a procurement plan to support timely initiation of site subcontractors to support schedule.xc2xb7 Oversee project logistics plan to assure all equipment and materials arrive on site to support construction.xc2xb7 Review project engineering to support constructability and local capability and material availability.Manage project site team:xc2xb7 Agrees targets and work packages with project team and delegates defined results.xc2xb7 Work with the POO PM, and Scheduler to Monitor Project Schedules and do regular periodic assessment of the complete project, for keeping the project within targets with respect to time, cost, quality, and system performance.xc2xb7 Holds regular project site status meetings and organizes acceptance of work results.xc2xb7 Manage and oversee contractors on site to comply with Siemens safety program requirements.xc2xb7 Oversee site contractors to initiate and implement construction to comply with engineering specifications, on time and within budget.xc2xb7 Work with subcontractors to identify non-conformance and minimize cost.xc2xb7 Oversee site commissioning personnel to safely, commission equipment on time and within budget.xc2xb7 Manage compliance to the requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).xc2xb7 Documents all work results according to the valid standards.xc2xb7 Manages site acceptance (tests), commissioning and final project handover/closure in a timely manner.Manage project finances:xc2xb7 Support periodic review of Project cash flow & financial review sheets (cost monitoring).xc2xb7 Supports regular financial controlling and reporting along the complete project lifespan.xc2xb7 Identifies non-conformances and takes measures to minimize the impact.xc2xb7 Supports project risk assessments to appropriately reflected in project calculation.xc2xb7 Fosters change order approach consequently with adequate margin contribution.Manage stakeholders:xc2xb7 Support the POO PM, leading the coordinated project communication with customer.xc2xb7 Work with the POO PM to conduct stakeholder analysis and manage efficient communication with relevant stakeholders (e.g. customers, partners, suppliers, authorities).xc2xb7 Monitor and respond to implementation-related issues and work with clients to improve client satisfaction when escalated.xc2xb7 Actively manages and solves conflicts.xc2xb7 Drives intercultural communication and collaboration.xc2xb7 Selects and involves partners/subcontractors based on project needs.xc2xb7 Involves procurement at an early stage and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. legal, compliance, EHS).Manage contracts, risk/opportunities and change orders/claims:xc2xb7 Follows the relevant LoA process as designated Project Manager.xc2xb7 Assesses and manages contracts including supplier contracts.xc2xb7 Manages project onshore part according to the New Collaboration Model if applicable.xc2xb7 Negotiates with stakeholders on change requests and incorporates them into contracts.xc2xb7 At an early stage, identifies claim potential and works on mitigation/avoidance strategies.xc2xb7 Proactively drive and negotiate opportunities.xc2xb7 Ensures monitoring and management of risks and opportunities.xc2xb7 Devises suitable strategies for risk mitigation and ensures the implementation of the risk mitigating measures.Manage compliance to standards, rules, and regulations:xc2xb7 Leads project members to act according to the Business Conduct Guidelines following the rules (e.g. tax regulations, delegation of employees, guarantees and export control).xc2xb7 Sets necessary measures to ensure zero harm policy in environment, health and safety.xc2xb7 Involves the necessary corporate governance units.xc2xb7 Complies to local standards and law of countries directly affected.xc2xb7 Ensures the overall quality of works, products, and deliverables.Qualifications and Experiencexc2xb7 Relevant territory Degree/Diploma, preferably an Electrical Engineering qualification or similar.xc2xb7 A Project Management qualification.xc2xb7 10 years + experience in project management of proven experience in successfully handling large cross-functional and cross-cultural projects with full profit and loss responsibility.xc2xb7 Advantage is PMP certification.xc2xb7 Project management in the Civil works, Electrical and General contractor spacexc2xb7 Strong Administration and time management skills.xc2xb7 Advanced interpersonal skillsxc2xb7 Ability to lead virtual project team/s to a successful implementation across countries.xc2xb7 Excellent intercultural skills to cooperate with customers throughout sub-Saharan Africa.xc2xb7 Must be willing to travel.
