Contracts Engineer

Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage contracts based on FIDIC (Red, Yellow, and/or Silver Book), including claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
  • Support the project management team with contractual advice and compliance oversight throughout project lifecycle.
  • Assist in procurement strategy development and contractor engagement processes.
  • Liaise with legal and commercial teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare and review contract documentation, payment certificates, and change orders.
  • Monitor contractor performance and support the resolution of contractual issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Professional registration as Pr Eng (ECSA) or PrQS (SACQSP) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in contract engineering/management.
  • Strong background in mega raw bulk water infrastructure projects is essential.
  • Expert knowledge of FIDIC contract suites, particularly in the context of large-scale infrastructure works.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-value, complex contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
