SUMMARY:
Do you have 5 years and more experience in renewable energy (Solar), EPC, FIDIC and JBCC Contract, Project management and/or Quantity surveying, then this position is for you. Our client in the Helderberg region is seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction/Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.. The role requires expertise in cost control, procurement, and compliance, along with knowledge of Solar PV and electrical systems being advantageous. Strong leadership, financial management, and risk assessment skills are essential, as well as proficiency in MS Excel and project management software. A qualification in Civil Engineering and experience in the Solar PV sector, particularly within the C&I and electrical sectors, will be beneficial.POSITION INFO:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, quantity surveying, or a related role
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction/Project Management,

  • Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and compliance
  • Knowledge of Solar PV and electrical systems (advantageous)

  • Ensure compliance with JBCC, FIDIC, and EPC contracts.
  • Handle negotiations, variations, and legal processes.
  • Review EPC contracts to align design, construction, and specifications with client expectations.
Sub-contractor Management & Claims Processes:
  • Manage sub-contractor relationships and claims processes.
  • Ensure all claims are accurately vetted, negotiated, and aligned with contractual obligations.
Supplier Agreements:
  • Oversee drafting and negotiation of supplier agreements.
  • Ensure timely delivery, compliance, and performance of suppliers.
Project & Cost Control:
  • Develop budgets and monitor project costs.
  • Identify savings and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with South African or international regulations.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination:
  • Source materials and manage suppliers.
  • Optimize costs associated with procurement.
Project Execution & Risk Management:
  • Oversee project teams and ensure quality of execution.
  • Mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the Project Manager in populating project programs for clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure site production aligns with the project schedule.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and senior management.
  • Review reports from Project Managers regarding budgets and timelines.
  • Compile project post-mortems for annual performance analysis.
Training & Development:
  • Mentor junior staff and drive their professional growth.
HOURS:
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 xe2x80x93 17:00
  • Fridays: 08:00 xe2x80x93 13:00
