DescriptionDuties and responsibilitiesWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Conveyancing Attorney to join our property law team. The ideal candidate should be driven, detail orientated and a good team player with at least 2 years post admission experience as a conveyancer. As part of the conveyancing team, you will play a key role in managing transactions, providing high-quality conveyancing advice and services to clients, and participating to the teamxe2x80x99s business development endeavors by engaging with key stakeholders, banks, estate agents etc.Duties include, but are not limited to: -

  • Overseeing conveyancing transactions, including bonds, transfers, and related processes, from instruction through to registration at the deeds office.
  • Preparing and reviewing deeds and documents and ancillary applications with accuracy and compliance to ensure timely and successful registration.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret title conditions, deeds office records, bank instructions and offers to purchase ensuring all compliance standards are adhered to.
  • Liaise with clients, financial institutions, estate agents, and other attorneys to facilitate smooth transaction progress and provide regular updates including for business development purposes.
  • Advise clients on legal aspects of property transactions, including bond conditions, title restrictions, and compliance requirements.
  • Admission as a Notary Public to assist in preparation of notarial deeds, servitudes, and other notarial documents will be an added advantage.
  • Managing bank scorecards to ensure full compliance with minimum standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow conveyancers and secretaries/paralegals to maintain high standards of service delivery.
RequirementsSkills and knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of conveyancing processes in general, i.e. transfers, bonds, cancellations etc.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and problem-solving within a property law context.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and client interaction.
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
  • Meticulousness and attention to detail.
Qualification/s
  • LLB Degree.
  • Admitted Attorney.
  • Admitted Conveyancer (mandatory).
  • Admission as a Notary Public is highly desirable.
  • 1-3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a conveyancing environment, with exposure to bonds and transfers.
