It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!Ensure regional standards within their area of responsibility, are maintained.Highest level of Education:Grade 12Retail Management diploma (advantageous)Minimum of 5 - 8 years experience in a management roleKnowledge of Liquor - essentialCompetenciesStrong financial analysis skills to assess the financial health of Pick n Pay, analyse financial data, and provide guidance in financial strategy and performance.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements and financial statement analysis.Ability to identify, assess and manage financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect Pick n Pay form financial losses.Strong data analysis and management skills to analyse large amounts of data using finance tools such as SAP, BBP and Analysis for Office.Key Responsibilities:Merchandising Management:Conduct regular quality checks on merchandise. Stock rotation in products Within required temperature standards.Check that product pricing is correct, product pricing complianceIdentifies and seizes opportunities presented by local market activities, promotional opportunities identified, and relevant parties notifiedMonitors Competitor developments and Customer profiles. Analysis of Competitor activityAnalyses Category performance. Recommendations made on ways to improve Category.Corrective actions put in place.Ensures that 365 standards are maintained. Corrective action taken on non-compliance to standards.Monitors adherence to merchandise/display standards and advises on ways to redress deviations.Deviations from standards identified and corrective action takenShelf edge labels correct and position correctly. Stock safety and correctly positionedNo expired stock on saleIdentifies out-of-stock" situations and follows up to, best practice standards, Core range available. In Counter price labels & product descriptions displayedFinanceMonitors budgets (expenses, turnover, gross),Deviations from budgets highlighted and corrective action taken. Analyses and interprets actual gross reports. Trends identified and assessed. Recommendations on corrective measures to be taken. Reasons for deviations identified and where appropriate escalated for action plans and conducts a results feedback meeting with team. Reasons for differences between budget and actual investigated. Action plans and control Steps to prevent deviations from budget future developed. Implements action plan to control excessive Damages. Damage controlled Within agreed Corrective action taken on deviations. Monitors departmental gross margins and turnover and identifies deviations.Participates in bi annual Stock takes. Accurate Stock CountPeople Management & DevelopmentConducts on-the-job training for departmental staff instore. All staff trained and know what is expected of them.Conducts assessment of individual on-the-job performance. Skills transfer assessedTraining needs identified and necessary action takenPerformance issues addressed and/or escalated to Store, Manager for action. Provides key input into manpower plans.Right person in the right job. Required staffing levels met.Operations & MaintenanceEnsures that all equipment is maintained in effective working order. Equipment working according to specifications. Deviations from standard identified and corrective action taken.AdministrationMonitors and checks accuracy of LAN listings with reference to incorrect barcodes and discontinued lines. Corrective action taken. Analyses Stock reports. Appropriate action taken on Stock levels. Analyses Daily & Weekly turnover & Shrink (Damages) figures. Areas for improvement identified, Feedback provided to management. Joint solutions created and resulted up.Monitors daily/ weekly. Opportunities for growth identifiedSales monitored against budget and corrective action taken. Checks all relevant administration documentation.Documentation is accurate, completed and submitted on time.Customer Service ManagementListens, confirms, and responds to customer request for products and services. Customer satisfaction assured. Handles customer complaints escalated for action. Customer complaints resolved.Sales PromotionsEvaluates the success of promotional activities in-store. Promotion measured against critical steps (staff involvement, stock levels, display materials/signage etc.). Opportunities to enhance future promotions identified. Sales comparison conducted.Food Safety & HygieneEnsures that hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained. Compliance to company & legal food safety standards.Cleaning roster in housekeeping principles enforced.Correct Clothing Worn by Staff.In-store Availability and AdaptabilityStock availability to meet customer demand.
