Boksburg, East Rand: MASTER ELECTRICIAN
(3 months temporary/probation with possibility of becoming permanent)
Minimum Requirements:
-Reliable and mechanically skilled male
-South African citizen, physically fit to perform daily task (standing for long hours, reaching, bending, lifting)
-Red Seal Electrical Trade qualification a must
-Valid wireman’s license a must (3 phase valid Master Installation Electrician certification, registered with ECA or DOL)
-Minimum 5 years recent experience as a Master Installation Technician working on LV/MV DC and AC installation and commissioning projects, power generation or construction environment a must
-Sound knowledge of Health and Safety, compliance and inspections
-Self motivated and astute ability to self-manage and take responsibility for company’s technical performance essential
-Experience in managing Subcontractor installation teams advantageous
-Understanding of Inverter systems and commissioning of such systems advantageous
-Understanding of system grounding and bonding advantageous
-Understanding of Municipal embedded generation bylaws and standards advantageous
-Able to read blueprints or technical diagrams.
-Valid driver’s license a must
-Clear criminal record a must
-Must currently reside in East Rand (within commuting distance)
-No lawful termination/dismissal at any previous employer due to misconduct or non performance
-Stable employment record and contactable references a must
-To start as soon as possible
-3 months contract/temporary (probation) with possibility of becoming permanent
Duties:
-Carry out electrical installation inspections, testing and issue COC's- Observing health and safety guidelines
-Health and Safety, compliance and inspections to authorize COC’s, as well as ensuring work at height permits and other requirements are met.
-Manage Subcontractor installation teams
-Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
-Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
-Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
-Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using handtools and power tools
Salary: R 26 000.00 – R 30 000.00 gross maximum (depending on relevant experience)
