Boksburg, East Rand: SITE MANAGER
(3 months temporary with possibility of becoming permanent)
Minimum Requirements:
-Reliable and mechanically skilled male, aged between 27-45 years
-South African citizen, physically fit to perform daily task (standing for long hours, reaching, bending, lifting)
-Fully bilingual in both Afrikaans and English a must
-Matric / Grade 12 a must
-Degree or diploma in Facilities Management / Construction highly preferred
-Minimum 7 years recent construction site management experience a must
-Experienced in a variety of facilities services roles with emphasis on tenant installations, building maintenance and technical roles with Project Management experience
-Advanced computer literacy in MS Office a must
-Understanding of customer market, business procedures, rules and processes, relevant legislation and regulations
-Competent, motivated, strong leadership skills and able to encourage subordinates and other work groups to work as a team.
-Knowledge of civil and structural codes and other associated codes
-Excellent technical background and skills in industrial environment.
-Able to control a multi?national workforce in a dynamic situation
-Understanding of other disciplines like Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication from site activities point of view.
-Negotiation and influence skills, innovative, creative thinker, flexible and excellent organizer.
-Excellent oral & written communication in English and interpersonal skills.
-Valid Code B driver’s license a must
-Clear criminal record a must
-Must be willing to travel, work overtime, weekends and Public Holidays
-Must currently reside in East Rand (within commuting distance)
-No lawful termination/dismissal at any previous employer due to misconduct or non performance
-Stable employment record and contactable references a must
-To start as soon as possible
-3 months contract/temporary (probation) with possibility of becoming permanent
Duties:
-Full Site Management duties for Construction Company
-Ensure all construction activities within designated areas are well planned and coordinated
-Utilize all available resources in coordination with other functional Managers in directing and supervising all involved site personnel and subcontractors
-Lead and ensure all work groups are properly guided, in close cooperation with Project Manager, in assembling and controlling required resources (manpower, equipment, materials and tools required) to start and sustain work efficiency and productivity until completion of project.
-Inspect work in progress to ensure conformity with QA/QC specifications and requirements, Industry Codes, Standards and Procedures, client requirements and provides technical advice to resolve problems.
-Advise Project Manager in determining need and procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times in order to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules.
-Review reports from Supervisors, and forward to Project Manager for corrective actions if project becomes behind schedule or over the budget.
-Accurate and timely collection and recording of quality and work progress.
-Weekly reporting of plans, QITP’s, photos, daily diaries and other progress to the project manager via email.
-Perform on?boarding and induction relevant to procedures, guidelines, policies, etc.
-Comply with highest level of quality, health, safety and environmental standards during all stages of project execution and pro?active with safety groups and subcontractors to promote safe and hazardous free work within the designated area.
-Assist SHEQ manager in management of SHEQ representatives with regards to site requirements.
-Support and assist staff with skills training programs (if required), and conduct regular performance appraisals with staff.
-Ensure that all equipment, plant, machinery and vehicles on site have relevant certificates, tests, services, inspections, etc. as required by client and legislation.
Salary: R 21 000.00 – R 28 000.00 gross (depending on experience)
