Cost Accountant

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop cost standards and implement cost control measures.
- Conduct profitability analysis for projects and provide financial insights to guide decision-making.
- Monitor inventory and perform cost analysis to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Assist in preparing management reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- CIMA qualified (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cost accounting role within the mining or energy sectors.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in cost accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and best practices.
