CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the services of a COST ACCOUNTANT at their plant in the NORTH WEST as soon as possiblePOSITION INFO:QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEBCom DegreeUp to 10 years'' experience at a mine site or quarryTechnical aptitude to spot discrepancies with machine diesel usageSKILLS:xc2xb7Computer literate (MS Packages, advanced Excel)xc2xb7Appropriate experience in cost and management accounting.xc2xb7Financial analysis aptitude and ability to provide quality recommendations and solutions.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESControl operational costsOversee Diesel and Weighbridge reportsEnsure adequate governance and system related controls exist that will allow for the preparation of a valid & complete budget and forecast submissionAnalyse and provide commentary on variances between forecast, actuals and budget and make recommendations where necessaryReview final commercial cost close-out and submit accurate billing requirements timeouslyPrepare monthly management cost reports and advise on appropriate interventionsAnalyse cost variances, prepare performance reporting commentary and financial presentationsSimilar jobs you might be interested in:Location: Johannesburg
