Established section 21/NPC in the housing sector based in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town needs an experienced individual to take responsibility for the credit control function.This is a key role overseeing the management of customer accounts. The credit controller works to ensure that the company is receiving payments on time and ensures that the rental collection process is undertaken in a manner that optimizes the collection of rental income from tenants. (Book Value R7million - R8 million per month)Responsibilities:
Implement arrears procedures
Identify accounts that are in arrears by defined dates.
Facilitate tenant collection processes.
Generate and distribute in house demand letters.
"Hound" defaulters to settle their arrears.
Arrear accounts identified.
Arrear letters generated and distributed.
House Visits
Implement credit control procedures
Track arrears accounts
Implement credit control procedures.
Make payment arrangements with relevant tenants when appropriate.
Hand delinquent payers over to legal representatives
Liaise with attorneys throughout the legal process.
Track receipts on arrears accounts.
Credit control procedures implemented.
Arrangements made where appropriate.
Legal action taken where necessary
Debit Order collections
Ensure debit order forms have been completed accurately and timeously.
Create instalment batch and submit to Real pay for collections on time.
Edit ad hoc debit orders.
Review Real Pay reports and follow up as required.
Streamline the collection process.
Successful debit order collections.
Report Writing
Conduct an analysis of processes carried out and feedback received.
Generate a monthly progress report that demonstrates the status of arrears and movements thereof
Clear progress reports generated.
Full understanding of the companys positions at all times.
Manage Rental Administration
Preparation and distribution of monthly credit control reports

A minimum of a Grade 12 is required.
At least 3 years relevant credit control experience is required.
2 years min experience in administration, strong computer literacy & MS Excel proficiency is essential.
MDA skills & experience in the housing/property sector will be advantageous.
