The crusher foreman is tasked with managing and operating quarry and crushing plant to produce crushed
product at acceptable standards and volume in a cost effective and safe manner.Qualification, Experience and Technical Requirement
- Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum of 10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a crushing foreman
- Code 8 Licence
- Must be willing to relocate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word
- Excellent Command of the English Language
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Quarry Operations Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of quarry operations, including the
processes involved in crushing, screening, and sorting aggregates or other materials. This includes
knowledge of equipment used in the crushing process, such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and
loaders.
- Safety Regulations: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and protocols applicable to quarry
operations. This includes ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards,
promoting a safety-conscious work environment, and implementing best practices for accident
prevention.
- Equipment Expertise: Proficiency in operating and maintaining crushing equipment. This involves
understanding the technical specifications, troubleshooting common issues, and coordinating
equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to supervise and direct a team of quarry workers
effectively. This includes delegating tasks, providing clear instructions, fostering teamwork, and
resolving conflicts in a fair and constructive manner.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, safety
guidelines, and operational plans to quarry workers. Additionally, the ability to liaise with other
departments or stakeholders, such as the quarry manager, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving operational issues that may arise
during crushing activities. This involves troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, optimizing
production processes, and making informed decisions to ensure efficient operations.
- Planning and Organization: Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate crushing activities. This
includes creating production schedules, managing inventory levels, tracking equipment maintenance,
and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of environmental regulations and practices relevant to quarry
operations. This includes implementing measures to minimize environmental impact, such as dust
control, sediment control, and erosion prevention.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to work in physically demanding conditions and withstand long hours in
a quarry environment. This includes being able to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting,
climbing, and exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Quality Control: Understanding of quality control standards and procedures for ensuring the produced
aggregates meet specifications. This involves monitoring product quality, conducting regular
inspections, and implementing corrective measures as needed.Remuneration and Contract
- 12 Month Limited Duration Contract
- Basic R33 000 xe2x80x93 R38 000, will be determined based on experience as required by the organisation
- Willing to relocate
- Preference will be given to Designated Group Candidates
