In this role, you'll be responsible for steering our crypto coverage--including taking overall ownership of our regular crypto newsletter--and producing insightful features, in-depth analysis, and comprehensive reports on the rapidly evolving crypto sector. Minimum Requirements

Journalistic Expertise:

+ A minimum of 3-5 years of professional journalism experience, ideally with exposure to business, finance, or technology sectors.
+ Proven track record of producing high-quality written content under tight deadlines.

Crypto & Tech Savvy:

+ Demonstrable knowledge of the crypto landscape, including blockchain technology, digital assets, and regulatory issues.
+ Ability to translate technical and financial jargon into clear, compelling narratives and easy to understand language

Research & Analytical Skills:

+ Good research skills with an ability to identify emerging trends and develop original story angles.
+ Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex data and market developments.

Communication & Collaboration:

+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Digital Proficiency:

+ Familiarity with digital publishing tools, especially newsletter systems
+ Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new digital trends and technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Newsletter Leadership:

+ Develop, write, and manage a regular crypto-focused newsletter, ensuring engaging and accurate content that resonates with our diverse audience.
+ Curate news, trends, and insights from the crypto world to provide a comprehensive update of each issue.

Feature & Analysis Writing:

+ Research and produce well-crafted feature articles, opinion pieces, and analytical reports on topics ranging from market trends to regulatory changes and technological innovations in the crypto space.
+ Break down complex crypto concepts into accessible narratives for both crypto enthusiasts and newcomers.

Reporting & Aggregation:

+ Monitor industry news for summaries, and analyse emerging stories within the crypto ecosystem
+ Develop relationships with industry experts, thought leaders, and key stakeholders to source exclusive insights.
+ Prepared to host webinars and in-person events on topics related to crypto coverage.

Collaboration & Strategy:

+ Work closely with the Business Editor and the broader business team to align crypto coverage with Daily Maverick's strategic priorities.
+ Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions to shape ongoing coverage and future projects.

Digital Engagement:

+ Leverage digital platforms to promote your work and engage with our audience.
+ Stay updated with digital trends and tools to continually refine content strategy and reader engagement.
