We specialize in developing resource-saving evaporative cooling equipment that conserves water and energy. The products of BAC South Africa are distributed across Sub-Saharan Africa. To strengthen our Supply Chain Team in South Africa, were recruiting an Customer Services & Logistics Representative based in Cape TownFunctionCustomer Services & Logistics Representativebased in Cape TownPosition PurposeThe Customer Service and Logistics Representative is responsible to ensure that timely and accurate information is communicated to sales and customers, in addition ensuring that the relevant transport arrangements are in place to match customer needs.Principal AccountabilitiesLiaising with Sales Reps on promise dates for possible new ordersReview customer order dates and provide input to production scheduling + ensuring follow up of orders in processEnsuring adequate and timely communication with both sales and customersSupply transport quotes to sales for tender purposesPrepare documentation for local and cross border dispatch as required by forwarders / customers i.e. (Commercial/Pro forma invoices, packing lists, Fumigation, BV, Soncap and other certificates)Produce dispatch and transport schedules to ensure all teams are kept up to date as requiredCompile delivery instruction and documentation for each shipment, ensuring pre-shipment checks are undertaken - follow progress and update sales as requiredReporting on transport costs recovery rates and track costs to targetsVerify and complete the purchase requisitions for transporter invoices to ensure timely paymentAssist with Sales Order entry into the ERP system and supporting planning systems ProfileKnowledge & SkillsRelevant qualification preferred, but most importantly a minimum of 3 years customer service and logistics experience in a manufacturing environment (production environment is required rather than pure distribution & warehousing or fleet management)Customer service orientation (internal and external customers)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility in handling a wide range of tasksExperience in out-of-gauge (abnormal) transport for road and sea-freightComputer literate MS Office, SAP or other ERP experience advantageousProduction planning and tracking experience advantageousDeadline orientatedExperience in domestic and cross-border freight forwarding into Sub Saharan AricaExperience with SGS, B Vac proceduresSome technical experience will be advantageous (read drawings, etc)
