Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Cyber Defense Specialist to join their cybersecurity team.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of system and network architecture, experience with modern cyber defense practices, and a passion for cybersecurity.Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Computer Science Degree or Diploma (NQF 7) equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience as a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer or Network Engineer (both on-premises and cloud) (advantageous).
- Experienced in enterprise network architectures.
- Experience in SOC, both Defensive and Offensive security engineering.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure Monitoring, Orchestration, and SIEM tools and systems.
- Proficiency in industry standards (ISO27001, NIST, CIS, and Mitre Attack) with implementation experience.
- Networking architecture and system administration.
- Firewall Certifications.
- Azure or AWS experience, MSCE/CCNA, Security+, CEH, CISA, CASP, CISSP, OSCP (advantageous)
- Exposure to industries like mining, finance, or telecommunications (advantageous).
