Job Description

Operational Function:

• Use investigative techniques in order to analyze business questions, which include identifying the source of information, extracting and analysing into a report, and presenting findings to the business.
• Extract, organize, clean, and structure data to provide reliable and timely information.
• Collating and integrating data for reporting purposes. This includes the management of the reporting data marts, that is, ensuring that they are updated continuously and that they contain relevant information (sufficiently summarized for use for reporting).
• Develop operational procedures for the extraction, editing, verification and management of statistical data.
• Participate in the BI forum.
• Create and design aesthetically pleasing and effective operational dashboards for delivery to executives.

Information Needs Analysis & Reporting:

• Prepare written reports on a weekly and monthly basis or as required.
• Create data reporting solutions and implement reporting standards. This includes the publishing of information to an Enterprise Dashboard.
• Relate information across a number of dimensions, highlight areas of interest for the business, and apply the correct measurements and analysis techniques.
• Provide information at a sufficiently summarized level for business management analysis, planning and control.

Data Modelling Function:

• Maintain a competency of logical data modelling to depict business areas from an information perspective.
• Work closely with data stewards in the different business areas to propagate the importance of proper data warehouse design and modelling as well as general logical modelling concepts.
• Reverse and forward engineer models from existing operational systems and develop an understanding of the environments together with subject matter experts.
• Educate the IT team using models, on the design impact from changes and developments to source systems.
• Expose the infrastructure impact from projects to affected areas of IT.
