Job Description


Key Responsibilities:
Best Practice Research:

  • Conduct research on developments and trends in Data Architecture.
  • Ensure knowledge of industry standards and best practices, identifying gaps for improvement.
Data Architecture:
  • Partner with business and data colleagues to refine requirements and translate them into design documents.
  • Ensure all aspects of the data platform are considered, including data management, storage, access, data science, and reporting tools.
  • Design and implement database solutions to store and retrieve organizational data.
  • Evaluate stakeholder operations, applications, and programming to identify database structural necessities.
  • Assess database implementation procedures for compliance with regulations.
Technical Implementation:
  • Install and organize information systems to ensure organizational functionality.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Monitor system performance through regular tests and troubleshooting.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
Support and Training:
  • Educate staff on SQL-related procedures and software usage.
  • Provide support for system issues in a timely manner.
Risk, Data, and Compliance Management:
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Consider data security in the design and implementation of data solutions.
  • Utilize data profiling tools and understand data flows between systems.
Skills Profile:
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data engineering and data architecture.
  • Experience with databases and large-scale data management.
  • Good understanding of relational databases and organizational systems.
  • Project management or consulting experience in cross-functional projects.
  • Certifications in big data and cloud infrastructure are advantageous.
  • Expertise in software development, data analysis, data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing.
  • Understanding of physical database design principles and the system development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data profiling tools.
  • Familiarity with multi/hybrid cloud environments.
