Job ObjectivesDesign, develop and deploy data policies, guidelines, standards and processes for protection to ensure they enforced for data assets within the organisation. Ensure protection of data across the organisation in line with the Data Classifications and to ensure continued improvement of data quality and strict adherence to the agreed access and classification processes. Review policies, processes and standards for data protection, retention and archiving. Monitor data sharing and processing in accordance with data legislation. Monitor and record data privacy requests including the right to be forgotten, delete my data and data breaches. Review data policies, guidelines and processes for the quality of data and ensure that these are enforced in the data life cycle. Advocate for a single view of master data by encouraging the reduction of multiple points of entry. Problem solve on data quality process, identifying data quality issue patterns, applying remediation plans, implementation of data controls, and coordinate data quality remediation. Establish the data organisation for Shoprite including the register for data trustee and data stewards, data forums and councils. Mentor and perform peer reviews for team members.



QualificationsBachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics or a related technical field - (essential).



Experience+4 years' experience in a senior data analyst or equivalent role, with demonstrable knowledge and experience in data quality management of master, reference and transactional data, with significant influence on the overall direction of data governance - (essential). Strong data processing experience and background - (essential). Previous experience working with SAP Information Steward - (essential).



Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrable knowledge of best practices in data governance - (essential). Intermediate knowledge in programming languages, including Structured Query Language (SQL) - (essential). Strong MS Excel skills or a similar tool for data analysis - (essential). * Exposure to and understanding of business analysis - (desired).
