What will you be doing?
This position plays a crucial role in executing our ambitious data strategy. The purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data, which is essential for driving informed business decisions and strategies.
Main Accountabilities:
Develop and implement data quality standards, metrics, and processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy in line with DAMA and other industry standard frameworks across various data sources and platforms, including source systems and the newly implemented data Lakehouse platform, Snowflake.
Perform thorough data analysis to identify data quality issues, root causes, and support the development of appropriate solutions.
Design and execute data quality assessments and audits to monitor data quality performance.
Develop automated data quality reporting, building robust and easy to understand data quality reports for business stakeholders, data owners, stewards, and custodians.
Collaborate with data engineering, business intelligence, and other teams to ensure data quality requirements are understood and met.
Utilise SQL and Informatica to profile, query, and analyse data sets, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
Leverage Informatica for data integration, data quality monitoring, and data cleansing activities.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes, procedures, and findings.
Provide regular updates and reports on data quality metrics and improvement initiatives to stakeholders
Person Specification:
Proven experience as a Data Quality Analyst or in a similar role (Data Steward)
Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
Experience with informatica for data integration and data quality management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Prepared to take ownership of a task and see it through to the end
What else looks good for this role:
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders across functions and explain Data Quality terms to non-data experts.
Familiarity with Snowflake is a plus.
Prior experience with other data quality tools and technologies.
Knowledge of data governance and data stewardship principles.
Experience of data engineering and business intelligence principles.
Certifications in SQL, Informatica or relevant data quality and data management fields.
Demonstrated experience in successfully navigating and managing change within an organisation.
Displays a genuine interest in working within a newly established team, helping to introduce new working practices and principles.
Qualifications
What can you bring?
Although not required, any experience in the following would be considered highly desirable:
3+ years experience in data quality management and data governance within financial services, management consulting or highly regulated or critical services industry.
Experience in database management skills which MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server to extract, manipulate and validate data.
Experience in Python and R programming languages.

Your location will be home based, and you will require stable internet connection.
It will be your responsibility to have a solution in place to mitigate loadshedding to ensure you are able to work your normal shifts effectively, working from a public space is not deemed a acceptable solution.
As a home worker we expect you to have a suitable work set up, desk and a chair in a quiet space.
