Overview:The Data scientist (Level 2) role will collaborate with team member to develop our suite of analysis solutions. The role will use advanced statistical modelling and machine learning techniques to solve business problems and grown important business metrics. They will take ownership for productionised data science products. Responsibilities:Communication & presentation skills

  • The role requires the ability to communicate with clear consistent techniques to our internal and external customers, customising communication based on audience.
Data Science Fundamentals
  • This role will require working understanding of maths and data, how to apply to data science toolsets and approaches.
Games and Commercial Environment
  • The role requires the ability to understand the environment we are working and delivering in. Understanding and anticipating the questions and gaps in customer questions, promoting insights you can add value to the conversation
Data GovernanceThe role requires understanding of what the business requires in terms of data ownership, data governance and data security and for us to adhere to these practices, extending where necessary.Technical & professional knowledge
  • Intermediate experience with SQL (SSMS/Snowflake)
  • Intermediate with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau
  • Intermediate experience with a programming language such as R, Python and any other statistical tools
  • Intermediate experience with web-based repositories e.g. Gitlab/Github
  • Explore, organize, transform, visualize, and analyse data from different data sources to inform business decisions
  • Have a sound knowledge of statistics, statistical modelling and ML algorithms and the ability to identify use cases for the application of these.
  • Create interactive visualisations and reports to provide intuitive insights
  • Use ML techniques to produce predictive models that aide in analytical approaches to answering business questions.
  • Implement at least 60% of the full data science life cycle in production
  • Have numerical & proactive problem solving skills
  • Conduct analyses and/or experimentation/investigations using various statistical methodologies
  • Have consulting, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop a business understanding, use this to identify opportunities to deliver on business needs.
  • Be passionate about data and an engaging communicator with strong work ethic
  • Actively get involved in talent development and collaboration in the team
  • Have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, remote team
  • Have a good understating of data structures, databases and query optimization/best practice
  • Plan, manage and lead all assigned projects autonomously and responsibly.
  • Engage in daily BAU necessary for the operation of the business.
  • Facilitate in hiring, mentoring and training of team members.
  • Be the technical expert in the team, and the technical support to team and business leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Sciences, Physics, Finance, Economics or Engineering.
  • A Certification in Probability Theory and Statistical Fundamentals
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a data scientist, data analyst, mathematician, computer scientist or statistician
