Qualifications:

• Mastermind with a Masters degree in information technology or computer science.
• Rock-solid foundation with ITIL Practitioner (V3) / ITIL Specialist (V4) credentials.
• Proven wizardry as a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.

Requirements:

• Bring 7 to 13 years of IT mastery to the table.
• Flex at least 8 years of muscle in wrangling and maintaining Microsoft Systems and Databases.
• Expertise in managing operations on virtualized and distributed infrastructures.
• Navigate the high seas of environments with clustering, replication, and load balancer like a true captain.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

• Plot a course with Solutions Owners and Architecture Teams to set database standards and guide development teams with best practices.
• Navigate database implementation waters, ensuring smooth sailing with specifications and involving all hands on deck from project managers to business intelligence experts.
• Fine-tune database parameters for maximum efficiency and security.
• Guard the treasure trove of data with physical and logical security rules and usage standards.
• Design the map of databases, sculpt tables, and wield keys with finesse.
• Chart a course that balances the needs of both internal and external customers, especially when it comes to database size and capacity planning.
• Set sail to create databases and deploy data on physical media, AZURE DaaS, or Private Cloud platforms.
• Navigate the stormy seas of capacity planning for IT Infrastructure and manage hardware resources with precision.
• Keep a weather eye on data availability and quality, fine-tuning performance through automation and optimization.
• Read the stars of database performance statistics to optimize access efficiency.
• Steer the ship of scalability, monitoring volume and ensuring smooth data access.
• Guard the gates of user access permissions and tackle data security concerns in tandem with security engineers.
• Guide the ship through version migrations and approve updates before setting sail into production waters.
• Hoist the sails of backup systems to maintain data integrity, including archiving and purging data when needed.
• Establish quality standards, navigate with dashboards, and monitor performance metrics.
• Maintain the ships course with ITIL MIS support processes, serving as the beacon for helpdesk support and troubleshooting.
• Keep the ship on course with regular production follow-ups and management of IT Infrastructure projects and major changes.
• Ensure compliance with group norms and policies, keeping the ship seaworthy with Business applications/MIS services.
• Guard the ship with security and licensing policies and manage contracts and SLAs with suppliers.
• Keep the ships log updated with documentation of procedures and configurations, ensuring compliance with ISO, ITIL, and QHSE processes.
• Keep a lookout for new technologies on the horizon and anticipate their impact on the voyage ahead.
