Lets change the game together.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Johannesburg (hybrid, in the office three days a week).Role Purpose:This role involves the installation, design, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases and associated software products in support of operational systems and the development environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, reliability, and security of our enterprise data.ResponsibilitiesDatabase Support and Maintenance:

  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
  • Apply database patches and upgrades as needed.
Daily Health Checks:
  • Conduct daily health checks to monitor database performance and availability.
  • Identify and resolve any issues impacting database performance or availability.
Database Management:
  • Design, implement, and manage databases to meet business requirements.
  • Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning as necessary.
  • Manage database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
Client Support:
  • Provide support to internal and external clients regarding database-related issues.
  • Work closely with development teams to support application development and deployment.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • Microsoft certification (preferred).
  • Azure Fundamentals certification (preferred).
Experience
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with MongoDB (major advantage).
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server AlwaysOn.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud services.
