Data/ML Engineer Position: Data/ML Engineer
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

• Design, implement, and maintain robust data and content processing pipelines.
• Develop and optimize data wrangling processes and sharding designs.
• Build and deploy microservices to support various data and machine learning applications.
• Design and implement table structures, schemas, and operational models.
• Work with unstructured data and document processing to extract valuable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Continuously improve and monitor the performance of data processing systems.
• Utilize technologies such as Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes to enhance data processing and application deployment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Java and/or Spark is preferred but not crucial.
• Experience working with unstructured data and document processing.
• Proven experience in building data and content processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with data wrangling, sharding design, and microservices architecture.
• Experience in designing table structures and schemas.
• Experience in designing and implementing operational models.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, machine learning engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
