Dis-Chem Pharmacies in KwaZulu- Natal - New Germany has an opportunity available for a DC Checking Supervisor. The main purpose of this role is to achieve operational excellence, within the Dis-Chem Warehouse. Perform a Supervisory function in the Checking/ Order Confirmation Area or Outbound Department, in order to meet both legal and customer requirements.Minimum Requirement:
Essential:

• Grade 12 or Senior Certificate
• 1- 2 Years relevant experience

• Ensure that a high standard of accuracy is maintained during checking of picked orders.
• Ensure that all picked stock is scanned to verify order against required quantity, batch and expiry date
• Ensure that stock is packed in a manner that will prevent cross-contamination and damages during transport to stores.
• Ensure that once checked that: Either the pack-slip is included in the box or label with the description of goods in the Stock box or tote.
• Ensure that all goods when packed for dispatch to stores are labelled with labels required. (Use the store name/ invoice number and

number of boxes). * Do not allow stock to be removed from the warehouse, without proper documentation or the approval of the supervisor or manager/pharmacist. * Ensure targets set by management are met and reported.

• Ensure KPIs are met

• Report and record to management on all errors made by checkers and pickers.
• Ensure all administration/ filling is accurate and up to date.
• Keep accurate record on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
• Issue or distribute materials, products and supplies to co-workers based on information from incoming requisitions.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures and goods used or issued.
• Regularly confer with management regarding stock procurement and availability.
• Oversee the cleaning and maintaining of supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Ensure packing and unpacking of items to be stocked on shelves, in checking area.
• Ensure all boxes are marked using identification tags, example: Fragile or other labelling.
• Ensure shorts, extras and damages(all stock errors) are checked, authorised and taken to inventory
• Inform management of any issues or concerns concerning distribution centre`s checking personnel.
• Ensure management gets informed of any compliments and complaints within the department.
• Ensure floor checklists are done daily.
• Ensure consumable SOH is checked and reported

Special conditions of employment:

• South African citizen
• MIE, clear criminal and credit
• Drivers license and/or own reliable transport

• Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements
• Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs
• Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise
• Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, kneeling, push and pull objects, lift and move objects , repetitive bending
