Empowering Africaxe2x80x99s tomorrow, togetherxe2x80xa6one story at a time.With over 100 years of rich history and strongly positioned as a local bank with regional and international expertise, a career with our family offers the opportunity to be part of this exciting growth journey, to reset our future and shape our destiny as a proudly African group.Job Summary To provide specialist advice & support in the development & implementation of IT security service delivery processes, methods and techniques enabling secure management & control of IT access, in alignment with governance requirements.Are you ready to make a difference?Our Chief Security Office prides itself in its unique structure that sees an integration and collaboration model between our Information Risk, Cyber, Resilience, Physical Security & Forensics teams to ensure effective risk management across all disciplines.You will be focused on the evaluation, testing, implementation and support of the security solutions on the endpoints.What youxe2x80x99ll get to do:The role is within the Chief Security Office and your responsibilities will include the following:Help define a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our Privileged Access (e.g. authorisation, two-factor setup, least privilege access) and/or Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutionsCreate trustworthy user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant and reliableConfigure, test, pilot and rollout new user-facing experiences in modern toolsEnsuring that platforms, with architecture input, are maintained in the most current state and not allowed to become obsoleteDevelop detailed technical configuration documents, working closely with the security architecture, risk management and standards groupsDeveloping, maintaining, and updating internal process documentationProvide support to internal Absa projectsProvide platform related reports periodicallyPerform problem diagnosis; performance tuning; capacity planning and configuration management for the platformsRespond to platforms related incidents within the defined SLA timesProvide standby support for the platforms on weekends/holidays as per the rosterCombine the knowledge of security technology evaluations and emerging products with security business needsAbility to work with other engineers both internally and external to AbsaAbility to manage vendor relationships knowing due diligence goes beyond just the technology and engaging with the right business people to ensure Absa fully leverages vendor relationshipsWhat do you need to get in?NQF level 6 B Degree6 years (technical) experience in technology6 years Security Engineering experience preferably within a large financial institutionIndustry & Vendor certifications xe2x80x93 CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Linux, Windows, etc. preferredExperience in engineering and support of BeyondTrust suite and/or CrowdStrike will be advantageousExperience in API integrations will be advantageousWorking experience in Operating Systems such as Linux, Windows, MacOSSolid understanding of Web Services technologies (e.g. XML, .NET, JAVA) and remote access protocols (SSH, RDP, SCP)Experience in automation technologies will be advantageousStrong knowledge of information security frameworks and standards such as CIS, ISO27001,Comprehensive grasp of emerging security technologies and threats for mobile & digital channelsKnowledge in multiple information security technologies and their strengths and shortcomingsExperience with securing information for cross-functional, cross-platform applicationsMonitors marketplace trends, vulnerabilities, emergent threats and audit/control issuesMust have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation and demonstrate the ability to drive resultsStrong communication skills both verbal and written and strong relationship and collaborative skills and organizational skills with the ability to work as a member of Group cyber team and geographically distributed engineering teams (ARO)Actively seeks ways to understand and mitigate riskAble to shift well from task to taskAble to work well under pressureIf youxe2x80x99re passionate about working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the exciting world of Security by leading from the front, we would love to hear from you!EducationBachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
