Deli Manager - verulam, KZNFull job descriptionBased in the hustle and bustle of Verulam, our well established supermarket is seeking a deli manager to join its family. As a deli manager you will work with your team to maintain a well-run delicatessen by ensuring smooth operations and positive customer experiences in the store.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage and support your deli team.Direct, influence and assist the deli to increase sales.Innovate and bring in new ideas and concepts to enhance the deliPurchasing and management of inventoryBuild and maintain an effective deli department.Demonstrate strong management skillsInspection of food products that are prepared and ensure quality and safety.Ensure that all food hygiene and safety standards are met and keep up to date with industry standards.Determine costing and set meal pricesConduct deli training, merchandising, sales, and profitability growth.Administration: Signing off on invoices, timesheets, supervise other deli staff and schedule work activities; ensure deli opening times are maintained and fully staffed.CompetenciesA passion and flare for foodExcellent communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).Salary will be market related and based on your experienceEducation:High School (matric) (Required)Qualification in hospitality/catering management.Health and Safety Certification would be advantageousExperience:Hospitality/Catering management: 1 year (Required)Requirements:Grade 12A qualification related to the hospitality and professional cookery fieldExperience in running a deli, canteen or restaurant.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentAbility to commute/relocate:Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Job Type: Full-timeAbility to commute/relocate:Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
