• PhD degree in the relevant discipline within the Faculty
• Senior position within the Faculty with evidence of managerial experience of 3 years plus10 years of research experience with good track record/evidence of national and international research projects, obtained national and international project funding.
• Proven track record of supervision both Master and Doctoral students to successful completion.
• Have in-depth knowledge of UNIVEN research, community engagement and ethics policies and how they must be applied.
• Partake in community engagement, entrepreneurial and third-stream income activities.
• Must show a good track record of teaching and learning, community engagement and research activities with a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications.

• Work with the Faculty Manager to support Executive Dean at a strategic level in pursuing academic excellence.
• Responsible for the control of all postgraduate programmes including oversight of supervision and throughput within the residency period as well as non-[1]examining chairs.
• Ensure that the Faculty meet the allocated research outputs units' targets.
• Oversee the quality assurance of the postgraduate programmes in the Faculty.
• Provide leadership in the Faculty by chairing all delegated committee meetings and submitting reports to Faculty Executive Board every quarter.
• Be a role model for other members of staff in the pursuit of academic excellence in research and innovation.
• Partaking in the recruitment drive to attract prospective postgraduate students and Post-doctoral fellows to the university.
• Oversee all activities of the Faculty Higher Degrees and all committees related to research and postgraduate studies including the Research Ethics Committee, and Research Publication Committees in matters related to the Faculty.
• Represent the Faculty in the University High Degree Committee meetings.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and communities of practice.
• Contribute to the Faculty operational plan and the UNIVEN Annual Performance Plan to realise the University's strategic objectives.
