The Department of Cultural Affairs, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate the identification of talented youth for higher level participation and provide support with regards to sport, arts, culture and educational outcomes whilst promoting mass-based, after-school, recreation activities for school-going youth through the Mass participation, opportunity and access, Development and growth (MOD) Programme within the Western Cape Province. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Minimum Requirements
A 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years middle management level experience; A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas Planning, identification and confirmation of MOD Centres; Ensure that SLAs are explained to each relevant institution (school) and that they comply with them; Ensure that the correct processes and procedures are followed for the establishment and implementation of MOD Centres; Development and maintenance of Information and Knowledge Management System; Ensure the following: Reporting and Communication; Monitoring and evaluation; Human Resource Management and Financial Management.
Competencies Knowledge of the following: MOD Programme; Recreation-based activities, and relevant next-level activities; Relevant recreation, school sport, sport, arts, culture and education policies, rules and regulations; The National Sport and Recreation Plan; Statutory prescripts surrounding the Public Service; Managing activities, events and people. Skills needed: Communication (written and verbal); Problem solving; Leadership; Managerial; Administrative; Finance; Asset management; Research and inter-sectoral collaboration; Organising and planning; Presentation and Decision making. Abilities: Conflict resolution; Work under pressure and Liaise with personnel at all levels.
Remuneration
All-inclusive salary package of R 811 560 per annum (Salary level 11)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
