A large consulting company with offices across South Africa is looking for a Design Engineer: Civil to join their growing team in Johnnesburg.

Minimum requirements:

xc2xb7 BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Civil).

xc2xb7 Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist

xc2xb7 At least 10 years experience

xc2xb7 Five (5) of the ten (10) years post professional registration (Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng) should be in planning, preparing/ managing designs and delivery of civil infrastructure scope within multi-disciplinary projects including bulk earthworks, roads, drainage networks including Construction Management experience.

xc2xb7 Strong technical background in Civil Engineering.

xc2xb7 Excellent design skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

xc2xb7 Develop Civil construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and design standards.

xc2xb7 Collaborate with architects, contractors and other construction professionals to ensure that designs are feasible and meet all client project requirements.

xc2xb7 Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and refine construction project designs. Creating 3D models and animations using CAD, Civil 3D and BIM software.

xc2xb7 Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and construction techniques.

xc2xb7 Develop and maintain project and contract documentation, including design reports and drawings and specifications.

xc2xb7 Ensure that construction projects meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.

xc2xb7 Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget and in compliance with defined quality standards.

xc2xb7 Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and making recommendations to senior project management team members.

xc2xb7 Conduct regular project team meetings and providing guidance and support to multi-disciplinary project team members.

xc2xb7 Ensure that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and any project planning and milestone changes.
