Job Description

• Design and develop mechanical systems especially for the water and wastewater treatment industry as well as other industries, keeping in mind the budget, timelines and other essential resources.
• Perform regular tests and experiments to determine how to better improve a component
• Use CAD and 3D CAD programs (E.g. Solidworks, Revit, Autodesk Inventor, etc.) to plan the mechanical design projects
• Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them
• Research and keep up with the dynamic technology and trends in the mechanical design spectrum
• Translate the clientxe2x80x99s briefing to components through innovative and reliable mechanical product development
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of the machine design process, from planning and design to testing and implementation
• Planning and analysis of the aspect of construction that involves mechanical work.
• Proper installation, test running, maintenance and overall control of all activities related to mechanical equipment and facilities.
• Adhere to national and local compliance regulations and standards, along with keeping in mind the ethos of the company
• Manage the Quality Assurance aspects of equipment fabricated as well as procured equipment.

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years experience working as a mechanical design engineer or machine designer
• Experience working with tools such as UGNX, Creo and Teamcenter
• Knowledge in dealing with engineering drawings and 3D modelling
• Sound knowledge of GD&T
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have a valid drivers license
