GIBBs Roads and Highways Services Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high-capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.This Sector is looking for a talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Design Engineer (Municipal Infrastructure).We welcome your application if you meet the requirements, listed below, for this position.The below listed responsibilities and requirements is assessed during the interview stages and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.Core PurposeThe purpose of the job is to produce technical deliverables on of large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Specific focus on civil Infrastructure design using Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D is a requirement. To carry out the planning, design, site supervision and construction monitoring for both internal and external civil municipal infrastructure (water, and sewer, roads and stormwater including stormwater management plan) for existing and new developments for both Private and Public Sector Clients. Compilation of Tender Documentation including Conditions of Contract, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and Tender Drawings.Key Performance Areas

  • Design & documentation of municipal services
  • Can work independently on project technical deliverables
  • Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Experience with GCC2015, SABS1200 & COLTO
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Preparation of reports and presentations
  • Competent with Civil Designer, Civil3D and AutoCAD
  • Plan, organize and control specific technical tasks
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System
  • Keep abreast of Technical best practice
Job Requirements:Qualifications:
  • Applicable bachelor's for BTech degree.
  • Registration with ECSA as a PR Eng.
Experience:
  • 5 or more years' experience with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design experience a pre-requisite.
