Your Key Responsibilities:As the right hand to our Destination Safety Manager, you will work with various stakeholders such as law enforcement, SAPS, CCID, WSAR (Wilderness Search and Rescue), and Social Workers. Your key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating safety programs to ensure destination and visitor safety.
  • Ensuring that visitors and industry members are aware of the Travelwise brand and our Namola App.
  • Implementing the Band-Aid program to assist international visitors in distress.
  • Building community support and awareness of tourism within their communities.
  • Documenting the progress of program goals and objectives achieved.
  • Coordinating Travelwise activations.
  • Partnering with the Destination Safety Manager to arrange and coordinate quarterly safety awareness sessions.
  • Building effective partnerships with safety implementers in the City.
What You Offer:A minimum of a Higher Certificate (NQF5) plus 3-5 years in a tourism-related field, together with:
  • Project-related experience, including coordinating safety sessions (securing venues, planning, organizing, and inviting stakeholders to seminars/events).
  • Relationship-building experience (attending monthly meetings to cultivate or nurture stakeholder relationships).
  • Proficiency in social media to monitor any unrest or visitor incidents online.
  • A drivers license with your own vehicle.
  • Availability and adaptability to handle last-minute requests.
