Job Description

Our client in the Telecommunications industry is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer, in South Africa (Hybrid)Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Collaboration with Development and Operations: Work closely with developers to optimize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and ensure best practices for infrastructure and deployment.
• Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and optimize hybrid cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, ProxMox, VMWare, etc.), ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health of applications and infrastructure, using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Security: Ensure best security practices are integrated into the development and deployment processes, working with security teams to identify and address vulnerabilities.
• Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot performance issues and work on improving the overall speed and reliability of systems.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation for infrastructure, processes, and automation scripts.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or similar)
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles, with hands on experience in CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automation.
• Tools & Technologies: Proficiency in tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, ProxMox, VMWare, etc)
• Scripting Languages: Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Cloud: Solid experience working with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud native architectures.
• Version Control: Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Services such as Radius, TACACS+, OID (SNMP)
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across development, operations, and security teams.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Swarm, etc.)
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Site Travel.

Renumeration:

• R60 000 R70 000 per month dependant on qualification and experience.
