ENVIRONMENT:A specialised company that focuses on the architecture, design and deployment of IP and ethernet infrastructure for service providers is currently seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the Linux operating system and network integration.DUTIES:

• Provide effective, timely and accurate network solutions for new and existing designs.
• Identify initiatives covering Layer 1, 2 and Layer 3 topologies, Radius and QoS.
• Ensuring standardisation across networks is supported and cost-effective scalable solutions are produced.
• Raise and carry out change requests, after hours.
• Provide accurate enterprise network design consultancy for approved projects.
• Support and initiate network and operations optimisation activities.
• Ensure network and infrastructure elements are correctly managed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years hands-on experience, building and configuring complex networks.
• Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong understanding of IP/MPLS and associated protocols.
• Hands-on experience with carrier grade networking equipment and technologies.
• Solid experience at troubleshooting complex problems.
• Solid understanding of carrier grade requirements in terms of reliability and robustness.
• Network integration via the following protocols:

• REST and/or SOAP APIs
• Netconf and YANG
• Radius and/or Diameter
• NetFlow protocols (NetFlow, IPFIX, JFlow and SFlow)
• SNMP and streaming telemetry
• BGP and IGPs (ISIS, OSPF)
• Strong knowledge and experience of Python and/or other scripting languages.
• QOS principles and familiar with networking protocols.
• QOS and traffic shaping principles.
• An understanding of policy enforcement solutions.
• Content management/version control/source code management solutions (Bitbucket/Bamboo/Git Hub).
• Routing protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, QoS, MPLS and MPLS VPN, etc.
• IT security, DDoS mitigation and auditing a plus.
• Deep understanding and experience in product delivery and maintenance service: router, switches, WLAN, firewalls.
• Experience in professional services in the service provider and telecommunications space and data centre networking experience would be beneficial.
• Good programming/scripting skills.
• Excellent networking skills Should be comfortable with mainstream networking protocols.
• Comfortable with working with database technologies related knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript and HTML.
• Working knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming and knowledge of functional programming.
• Working knowledge Of SQL databases such as MySQL and other query languages.
• Bachelor's degree would be preferred (Engineering or Computer Science).
• Related vendor certifications would be beneficial.
