Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Automate routine system administration tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage applications in production environments.
- Configure and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar platforms).
- Implement continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps and system administration technologies and best practices.Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in a DevOps or System Administration role.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualisation technologies.
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Bonus: Knowledge of Ceph software defined storage.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Must be based in South Africa, with preference given to candidates in or near Cape Town who can work onsite at least one day per week.
