Requirements:

  • A minimum of Grade 12
  • Code 10 (Code 14 - advantageous)
  • Computer literacy
  • Diesel Technician / Mechanic Trade Test (TRUCKS)
  • Minimum of 5 yearsxc3xa2xc2x80xc2x99 experience at a franchise truck dealership
  • Electrical & Hydraulic knowledge and experience
  • Clear criminal record

  • Physically fit and able to handle the specific strenuous physical requirements of this function.

Experienced in performing the following tasks:
  • Major Services
  • Engine removal and replacement
  • Engine Strip & Assemble
  • Gearbox removal and replacement
  • Braking Systems
  • Steering & Suspension
  • Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics
Responsibilities:
  • Assist drivers with any complaints of trucks and trailers before departure.
  • xc3x82 Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs.
  • Complete Roadworthy repairsxc3xa2xc2x80xc2x93 Prioritize (if any)
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Adhering to warranty procedures.
  • Respond to email enquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Abide by the company's safety regulations and Adhere to conditions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Adhere to conditions of the Environmental Act. No spillage and wastage included.
  • Conduct services and call outs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Schedule fleet washes for the day
  • Monitor and control wash bay consumables.
  • Adhere to stock control procedures for parts and consumables.
  • Manage oil usage and month end stock take.
  • Admin duties include but not limited to:, ordering parts, request quotations, follow up on parts; off-site repairs , manage diesel filling report, master service + maintenance and trye reports, wash bay schedules, Capturing, filing, ECT
  • Complete paperwork and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs done on fleet and equipment.
  • Monitor COF process and license renewals.
  • Supervise the Wash Bay team.
  • Daily duties include but not limited to: o All trailer services and repairs when required as prescribed by equipment manufacturer.
  • All UD truck repairs and minor services.
  • All (out of warranty) Isuzu repairs
  • All Hyundai repairs and minor services.
  • Attend to all breakdowns and call outs
  • Attend to all electrical, electrical wiring and pneumatic repairs.
  • Conduct all computer and techtool diagnostics.
  • Responsible for Distribution tools and equipment
  • Control parts & stock sheet
  • Maintenance duties
  • Responsible for minor vehicle repairs:
  • Suzi pipes/loom cables
  • Male and female couplings
  • Light bulbs/fuses
  • Curtain rollers/trailer poles
  • Curtain cut repairs & replacing buckles
  • Corner cappings
  • D & J rubbers
  • Regular tyre pressure + depth inspections
  • Inspection & monitoring of Supplier repairs
