Coordinate the DREAMS (School Based HIV and GBV) program and oversee the district-level implementation of the program in order to ensure the delivery of outputs and support the technical assistance component and the training of SBSTs, SGBs, and government officials where required

Key performance areas:
Communicate, promote, and support implementation of the School-based HIV & GBV program at the district, sub-district, and facility levels
Provide program implementation guidance and support to District team members to ensure delivery of program activities according to timelines and budgets
Constant consultation and planning with the provincial manager and district teams
Conduct regular meetings with the District team to ensure outputs are delivered and to review progress on the implementation plan
Review district implementation plans for effective implementation of the program
Identify the needs of the program at a district level and obtain the resources required
Coordinate and troubleshoot all program-related activities
Oversee the rollout of the training plan on the National School Safety Framework, SAFE schools, ISHP SOPs, and other relevant training for the district, including conducting Training for trainers
Through the provincial manager, work closely with the National School Safety manager and the capacity-building adviser/consultant to ensure that capacity-building activities are implemented in the district
Monitor the delivery and quality of training at the district level
Participate in monitoring activities mandated by the training of DoE Educators and support staff
Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, feedback, and support to the district training officer
Participate in ongoing mentorship programs initiated by other WRHI stakeholders
Evaluate the effectiveness of training by obtaining feedback from stakeholders and/or relevant assessments
Support the district team, ensuring that communication between the team is optimal and that program activities are coordinated and leveraged
Ensure coordination across program streams, ISHP, NSSF, Safe School, PrEP, Community Services, and Linkage to care
Support activities that promote and advocate for adolescent and youth-friendly service (AYFS) or youth zones at health facility and community level
Maintain close communication with the M&E team to ensure adequate and regular reporting and documenting of lessons learned and success stories
Develop and effectively manage relationships with relevant Wits RHI structures
Contribute to the achievement of Wits RHI's corporate goals and objectives
Develop and effectively manage relationships with external stakeholders including DBE, DOH, DSD, donors, and partners
Serve as a representative of the Schools project on external forums/working groups in the district
Coordinate program activities with external agencies such as public health, NGO partners, regulatory bodies, donor monitoring and auditing agencies, and others as necessary
Supervise and manage line reporting (clinical mentor, operation coordinator, and training officer) in keeping with Wits RHI policies and procedures
Attend to all staffing requirements and administration at a district level
Supervise and manage the duties of supervisees to ensure optimal staff utilization and maintenance of sound labor relations
Perform and facilitate performance assessments
Identify substandard performance by team members and take necessary corrective action
Coach and train subordinates and team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organization
Promote harmony, teamwork, and sharing of information
Provide day-to-day support to all project staff
Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
Take ownership of driving your own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy-setting workshops, etc.
Required minimum education and training:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Science, Public Health, Education, Management, or related fields
Must be a South African National or Permanent resident with fluency in English and in at least one local indigenous South African language
Must have a valid South African driver's license and be willing to travel
Required minimum work experience:
At least 3 - 5 Years of experience working in the Health and Education sector, comprehensive package of SRH services including HTS, PrEP, PEP and STI screening, child protection, Gender Based Violence (GBV), and youth programs
Experience in working with SAG ministries (DBE, DSD, DOH) and other government departments
Understanding and knowledge of HIV, SRH, PrEP, and GBV
Experience with PEPFAR funded projects will be an added advantage
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including report writing
Able and willing to work flexible hours as needed and without constant or close supervision
Demonstrated role in strengthening coordination and facilitating project implementation at the district level including sub-districts
Understanding of the school environment and experience in working with government departments at all three levels of government

Able to maintain confidentiality, tact, and professionalism at all times
Able to exercise discretion, high levels of initiative, and decision-making in consultation with the line manager
